Continuous rain in many areas until Wed

KUCHING: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of continuous rain for several areas in Sarawak starting yesterday until Wednesday (Mar 1).

According to the notice issued at 1.30 pm yesterday, the areas involved are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu).

Meanwhile, in Sabah, alert-level continuous rain was yesterday in Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat.

The same situation was expected in Perak (Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Mualim), Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya), Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

The public is urged to monitor the weather condition through MetMalaysia official website at https://www.met.gov.my/en/, the myCuaca mobile application or the department’s official social media pages.
