SARATOK: A man attempted to flee but was stopped by police for alleged involvement in drug abuse activities in Kabong.

According to Saratok police chief DSP Mathew Manggie, the arrest was made on Monday (Mar 2) when a team raided a house in Kabong.
He said the team spotted a man in front of the house, and when one of the officers identified himself, the man ran to the back of the house in an attempt to escape.
“The team chased after the 57-year-old suspect and managed to catch him at the rear of the house.
“During a search on the suspect, the team found a wallet, a driving licence and RM200 in cash. A black plastic bag was also found among the seized items,” he said.
Upon further inspection of the black plastic bag, police found two transparent packets, each containing two small packets of crystal methamphetamine.

Mathew added that a digital weighing scale was also seized, and the drugs weighed 2.70 grammes.
The suspect tested negative for drugs but has prior records, mostly related to drug abuse.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
