BINTANGOR: Four lorry drivers were slapped with summonses for transporting logs in a hazardous manner during an operation codenamed ‘Ops Khas Perdagangan’ yesterday (Sept 3).
The operation, held along Jalan Bintangor–Sibu and Jalan Kelupu, was conducted by Insp Rizal Md Isa and officers from the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division.
Meradong police chief DSP Tansli Mering said four logging lorries were stopped for inspections and found to be carrying their loads dangerously.

“Summonses were issued to the drivers for transporting loads in a manner that posed a high risk of accidents and endangered other road users,” he said.
He urged lorry operators and drivers to make road safety their top priority and never compromise on practices that could endanger lives.
Tansli said police will continue to intensify similar operations against overloaded and unsafe commercial vehicles to ensure compliance with the law.
