PADAWAN: Narcotics police arrested three local men for suspected drug-related activities during an operation around Sentosa Parade on Tuesday.
Padawan Police Chief, Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, confirmed that the arrests were made at around 2:00 pm following public tip-offs.
“During the raid, all three suspects, aged between 26 and 40, were detained for inspection.
“Police found seven plastic packets containing 5.43 grammes of crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, valued around RM750,” he said.
Urine tests later confirmed that all suspects tested positive for methamphetamine, and they had prior records related to drugs.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Upon conviction, the offence carries imprisonment of up to five years and whipping up to nine lashes.
