PADAWAN: Police are investigating a road rage incident showing a woman making an obscene gesture toward another driver along Jalan Batu Kawa last week.

The incident, which occurred last Saturday (March 15), has since gone viral after a 35-second video clip was uploaded on social media with over 963,000 views.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Mohd Radzi said they received a report from an 18-year-old male complainant at the Kota Sentosa police station at 5.50 pm yesterday (Tuesday).

“According to the complainant, while driving along Jalan Batu Kawa at 4.46 pm on Saturday, a female driver made a middle finger gesture toward him.

“The female driver mentioned by the complainant has been identified.

“The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person through words, gestures or actions,” he said.

Upon conviction, the offence carries a maximum jail sentence of five years, a fine, or both.

Irwan urged road users to remain courteous and avoid actions that may provoke or offend others.
