SERIAN: Police are searching for a local man, who is wanted in connection with a rape case reported last week.
The individual is identified as Solomon Sarie, 31, whose last known address is Rumah Damu, Sungai Muam in Marudi.
Serian police chief Supt Freddy Bian Stanislaus Bian said the incident occurred on June 20 in a contract workers’ container room at Taman Tasik Danau, Jalan Tangga By-Pass.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and caning.
He urged anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward and assist police with the investigation
