KUCHING: A local man was fined RM3,500 or three months’ imprisonment by the Magistrate’s Court for damaging a four-wheel drive pickup belonging to his wife’s boyfriend last August.
Mohamad Nur Fizdris Ideris, 33, from Lawas, pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code which was read out by an interpreter to him before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali today (Dec 14).
He was charged with deliberately damaging a Toyota Hilux belonging to the victim’s company with the damages estimated at RM2,000,
He was said to have committed the act at a house in Taman Janting, Jalan Batu Kawa, at around 2.30pm on Aug 7.
Based on the facts of the case, during the incident, the accused had come to the 31-year-old victim’s house carrying a long object and damaged the victim’s car.
The victim lodged a police report against the suspect accusing him of harassing the suspect’s wife which then led to the arrest of the offender two days after the incident on Aug 9.
It is understood that the accused committed the offence because he was not satisfied with his wife who often went out with her boyfriend to the point of neglecting their six-year-old son.
Mohamad and his wife are awaiting a divorce.
Inspector Mohd Adzmei prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
