PADAWAN: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has taken firm action against unauthorised earthwork activities along Jalan Segubang by installing a barrier to block entry to the site after the landowner failed to comply with road permit requirements.

According to MPP, the ongoing activity, conducted without the necessary council-issued road permit, had caused damage to public roads and inconvenience to local road users.

Despite repeated engagement and directives from the council, the landowner did not obtain the proper permit to continue operations.

In response, the council has denied access to the site, effectively halting all earthwork activities.

MPP Chairman Councillor Tan Kai reminded all landowners and developers within the Padawan area to adhere strictly to council regulations when conducting works that involve the use of public roads.

“All parties must be responsible when using public roads and comply with council regulations.

“Road safety is a shared responsibility, and the council will continue working closely with the relevant authorities to enforce compliance and protect road users,” he said.

He added that the council would not hesitate to take further enforcement measures against any party found in violation of the regulations, particularly those whose activities pose risks to road users or damage council-maintained infrastructure.

Access to the site along Jalan Segubang remains officially restricted, with the barrier in place to prevent further unauthorised work.

MPP reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety, ensuring proper land development procedures, and safeguarding public infrastructure across the municipality.
