PADAWAN: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman, Tan Kai assured residents of Jalan Sungai Tapang that the council is aware of the road safety concerns there.
He was addressing a recent statement by Michael Kong who is the special assistant to Stampin MP, Chong Chieng Jen regarding the need for traffic calming measures along Jalan Sungai Tapang.
As such, he clarified that Jalan Sungai Tapang falls under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department (PWD), assuring that MPP is currently having on-going communication with the department concerning the road’s maintenance issues.
“We have consistently followed up on the road safety conditions and concerns of road users at Jalan Sungai Tapang.
“On two occasions, MPP has written to PWD to conduct studies and implement improvements, particularly near residential areas,” he said.
The chairman reaffirmed that MPP will forward the petition letter that he received recently and continue to collaborate closely with PWD to ensure that the safety of Jalan Sungai Tapang residents remains a top priority.
