MIRI: A crew member of a vessel is feared drowned after falling overboard on Wednesday (Sept 9).

It is believed that the incident occurred around 2pm off Kuala Baram waters.

A police report was lodged by the vessel’s operation manager.

Nine firemen from the Lopeng fire station led by PBK II Nasir Razali rushed to the scene, said Miri Fire Zone 6 chief Supt Law Poh Kiong.

It is believed that the missing man, an Indonesian identified as Adriandi Kristianto, 34, had fallen off the vessel while untying the vessel’s propeller lines.

At press time, the search and rescue (SAR) operation team is still at the scene searching.
