KUCHING: The body of a man reported to have been attacked by a crocodile along the riverbank near Jalan Matang–Kampung Paroh here last night was found today, approximately 300 metres from the location of the incident.
Padawan District police chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, said the 33-year-old victim was discovered around 12:30 pm near the riverbank.
“The water level was receding at the time, and about half an hour after it started to drop, we managed to locate the victim,” he told reporters when met at the scene.
When asked about the condition of the body, he said that it was found in an incomplete state and had sustained injuries on several parts of the body.

The victim was also discovered partially clothed, he added.

He said these included the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Marine Police, Police Air Unit (PGU), and the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC).
“Thankfully, through the collective efforts of all involved, we were able to locate the victim.
“At present, the body has been taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) for further action,” he said.
