LAWAS: Members of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) have been told to maintain a strong sense of unity and teamwork in line with the party’s aspirations and mission.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also PBB deputy president said the party’s long-standing history and its significant contributions has enabled the party to continue to benefit the people until today.
He stressed that the remarkable development enjoyed by Sarawakians is the result of the collective efforts of the party which is also the backbone of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.
“Political stability lies in our hands. We must ensure that the party remains strong and resilient, as it is the pillar of our progress.
“It is vital for the younger generation to understand that while leadership may change, the unity and strength of our party must endure.”
He said this at the opening ceremony of the PBB Bukit Sari Branch Delegates’ meeting for the 2024–2027 session, held at a hotel here on Saturday.
Awang Tengah noted that significant developments in areas such as infrastructure, energy and telecommunication have been achieved in Lawas and Limbang.
“We will continue to build our capabilities to compete and advance because we have the talent, capacity and potential to succeed.
“With determination and confidence, we will achieve great things. This is what we must continue to strive for,” he emphasised.
Awang Tengah also stressed the importance of inclusivity among all ethnic groups within PBB to ensure the party’s continued progress and legacy.
Also present were Awang Tengah’s wife Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud, Lawas Member of Parliament Datuk Henry Sum Agong, PBB executive secretary Datuk Awang Bujang Awang Antek, and political secretary to the Sarawak Premier Awangku Jinal Abedin Pengiran Jawa.
