KUCHING: Kuching City FC are set to embark on their Jakarta journey today for their second pre-season tour, with five friendly fixtures lined up against top-tier Indonesian clubs.
Head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak described the trip as a vital platform to gauge his squad’s true strength ahead of the new season, particularly in terms of individual player performance and overall team cohesion.
“The team is looking good, but these five matches in Jakarta will give us the chance to assess weaknesses and sharpen all departments,” he told Arena Suara Sarawak
He noted that the fixtures would offer greater exposure to competitive match conditions, especially for new signings, and serve as a final tune-up before competitive play resumes.
Despite having already played five warm-up games in earlier phases of their pre-season, Aidil admitted there was still room for refinement, citing the need for improved chemistry and tactical discipline.
Kuching City’s Jakarta tour will begin with a match against PSM Makassar on July 18, followed by fixtures against Persita Tangerang (July 20), Garudayaksa FC (July 22), Dewa United (July 24), and a second encounter with Persita on July 27.
The club hopes the tour will solidify their preparations and provide critical insights ahead of their domestic campaign.
