KUCHING: The newly-elected leadership of CUEPACS Sarawak has met to map out strategic priorities for the years ahead.
The inaugural meeting of the new office bearers, which came after its recent State Triennial Conference, also deliberated on realigning its organisational structure
CUEPACS Sarawak’s Chairman, Kullin Djayang, said the meeting marked the start of a more structured and proactive effort to ensure the union continues to serve as the main voice for civil servants.
“We want CUEPACS Sarawak to remain as the leading voice in defending the rights of civil servants while building stronger ties with both the state and federal government agencies,” he said.
The meeting was graced by CUEPACS Malaysia’s President, Datuk Dr Adnan Mat, who outlined the latest direction and priorities for the national union following its triennial conference.
He reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no civil servant is left behind in enjoying the benefits and entitlements they deserve.
“CUEPACS will continue to be the main pillar protecting the rights and welfare of public servants nationwide, including those serving in Sarawak,” he said.
He also urged all affiliate unions in Sarawak to play a more active role in strengthening solidarity and ensuring effective communication between members and the central leadership.
A key highlight of the meeting was the symbolic presentation of membership applications from the Sarawak Education Department Support Staff Union (KEKASA) and the Sarawak Medical Laboratory Technologists Union (KJTMP), marking their commitment to join the CUEPACS movement in the state.
The event culminated in the MADANI Appreciation Dinner 2025, officiated by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala, who praised the union’s efforts in supporting government policies and promoting professionalism in the civil service.
