KUCHING: The Gawai Dayak Bazaar 2024 aims to promote cultural pride among youth and artists.
Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said that the bazaar offered local artists a platform to showcase their talents.
“In addition, it can showcase new talents and give recognition to qualified artists.

“As the saying goes, culture reflects the nation. The civilisation of a nation is often seen in its cultural heritage. Culture itself must be preserved because it reflects the identity of the nation,” he said in his speech, representing Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at the opening ceremony of the Gawai Dayak Bazaar at Batu Kawa on Friday night.
On the bazaar, Sagah said that it was an activity aimed at stimulating the local economy.

“I urge traders to use this opportunity to do business and promote their products and services. Use this bazaar as a platform to meet and exchange ideas with fellow entrepreneurs to expand business prospects,” he added.
Also present were Deputy Minister Datuk Frances Harden Hollis, Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Liwan Lagang, Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben, Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh.
