KUCHING: The Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP) has unveiled a special showcase of three locally produced documentaries that delve into the richness of Sarawak’s culture, traditional craftsmanship, and everyday life.

These inspiring stories will premiere exclusively on TVS this June.

Opening the series is A Legacy, airing on June 24 at 9:30 pm.

It takes viewers on an intimate journey through three of Sarawak’s most cherished cultural treasures, including the vibrant artistry of kek lapis, the spirited tradition of tuak-making, and the intricate storytelling expressed through traditional beadwork.

Featuring the voices of passionate artisans and cultural custodians, this documentary highlights how these practices continue to evolve, bridging generations while remaining rooted in heritage.

Airing immediately after at 9:45 pm, Masters of the Rainforest explores the living musical and oral traditions of Sarawak’s indigenous communities.

As ancestral songs echo through the rainforest canopy, the documentary offers a powerful look at how rhythm, language and performance serve to preserve identity and history in the heart of Borneo.

The series concludes with Serian: Food Trails & Stays on June 27 at 9:45 pm.

This sensory rich documentary presents a vivid portrait of the Serian District, reaching beyond its iconic markets and mouthwatering cuisine.

From limestone hills and cascading waterfalls to forest trails leading to welcoming village homestays, the film celebrates rural resilience, culinary pride, and the deep-rooted connection between people and their land.

These documentaries reflect the ministry’s commitment to celebrating and preserving Sarawak’s diverse cultural identity through compelling storytelling.

All Malaysians are invited to tune in and rediscover the beauty of these living traditions.

Catch all three documentaries on TVS (Channel 122 via MYTV, Unifi TV and Astro).
