KUCHING: Hartanah Kenyalang Berhad has disclosed that its current tender book includes various building and infrastructure projects with a total contract value of RM451 million.
As the company seeks to strengthen its presence in Sarawak’s construction sector, its Managing Director, Seah Boon Tiat, said that RM311 million of the tenders are for design-and-build projects.
“Our current book is about RM150 million, and of course, on top of all the schools that we have built, we have actually started to tender more on the design and build projects,” he said.
He said this during a press conference following the launch of Hartanah Kenyalang Bhd’s IPO prospectus at the Sheraton Hotel Kuching yesterday.
Seah affirmed that the company remains focused on opportunities within the state.
“Everyone knows that Sarawak is a booming state. So since we are a Sarawak-based company, we will take this opportunity to get whatever we can from here,” he said.
As part of its preparations, the company has adopted Building Information Modelling (BIM), which is increasingly required for government tenders.
“We have actually sent our staff to the BIM course as well so that we are always ready for the tender that’s going to come in the future.
“Other than that, we have also taken steps to increase productivity, such as investing in new machinery to replace older equipment,” he added.
