MIRI: The Faculty of Engineering and Science at Curtin University Malaysia recently strengthened its longstanding partnership with Alibaba Cloud Malaysia, a global powerhouse in cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI).
Together, they organised a training workshop on cloud computing and AI for the university’s staff and students, aiming to enhance their educational experience with Alibaba Cloud Malaysia’s expertise in cloud technologies.
The workshop, titled ‘Embarking on the Cloud Journey,’ was conducted by Dr. Jawad Ali Shah, Senior Training Advisor at Alibaba Cloud Malaysia.
Participants gained valuable insights into cloud computing and AI, equipping them with the confidence to navigate the digital landscape.
After the workshop, Dr Jawad met with Ir Dr Lim Chye Ing, Associate Dean of External Engagement for the Faculty of Engineering and Science, and other faculty members from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, to explore opportunities for collaboration.
These discussions laid the foundation for future initiatives focused on advancing research, innovation, and industry integration in the field of cloud computing and AI.
Curtin Malaysia’s affiliation with Alibaba Cloud Malaysia extends beyond this workshop, as the university has had a long-standing relationship with the corporation since signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in May 2022.
