SARATOK: Famous for its landmark of labang fish, which is renowned for its sweet and succulent taste, the district is ready to welcome the Jelajah Perpaduan Kayuhan Sihat Borneo 2025 convoy at the Sri Kalaka Main Stage this Saturday, Aug 16.
Kalaka assemblyman, Mohamad Duri, expressed his excitement that Saratok was chosen as one of the tour’s stopover destinations.
“As the elected representative here, I warmly welcome the arrival of the convoy and thank you for choosing Saratok.
“Frankly, I fully support the ongoing efforts that involve the unity agenda, especially in promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as enhancing the spirit of patriotism among the community in Saratok,” he told Suara Sarawak yesterday.
Earlier, he and the Deputy Chief of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kalaka Branch, Councillor Kasdi Pandi, held a meeting with Saratok Cycling Club representative, Suib Jenal, at the Kalaka State Assemblyman’s Service Centre.
He explained that several programmes have been arranged to welcome the convoy that will stop by Saratok this weekend.
“The Saratok Cycling Club will join in welcoming the convoy’s arrival and will put up flags as a symbolic gesture of the programme in several proposed areas.
“Therefore, I invite the people of Saratok to come in large numbers to enliven the programme, which is a major initiative involving a cycling team activity from Kudat, Sabah, to Teluk Melano, Sarawak,” he said.
He added that the programme is driven by three main agendas:- the Unity and National Integration Agenda; the Malaysia Healthy National Agenda; and the Semarak Bulan Kemerdekaan 2025.
