KUCHING: Daikin Malaysia Sales & Services Sdn Bhd has relocated its Sarawak branch to a larger facility at Westfield Point to support growing demand in East Malaysia, strengthen after-sales services and enhance customer support across the state.

Managing Director, Lawrence Song Yew Beng, said the relocation reflects the company’s confidence in Sarawak’s expanding residential, commercial and industrial sectors, which have driven business growth in recent years.

“Our business in Sarawak is expanding and our previous office was no longer able to support the growth.

“With the new branch, we have a bigger space for our after-sales service operations, particularly for spare parts storage and ready stock to better serve our customers,” he told reporters after the grand opening of the relocated Sarawak branch today.

He said the larger premises would enable customers to obtain replacement parts more conveniently while allowing the company to respond more efficiently to maintenance and repair requests.

Song added that the new location was selected for its strategic accessibility and logistics advantages, enabling the branch to serve customers across a wider geographical area beyond Kuching.

“If we only focus on Kuching town, it would not be sufficient because we cover a much larger area.

“This location allows us to better serve customers heading towards central and northern Sarawak, and it is also conveniently located near the airport,” he said.

Besides the Kuching branch, Daikin also operates a service centre in Miri to provide faster technical support and after-sales services for customers in northern Sarawak.

Song said the company places strong emphasis on after-sales service, believing that reliable technical support is essential to building long-term customer confidence.

“We believe that with good after-sales service, we are able to gain customers’ trust.

“It is not only about selling air-conditioners but ensuring customers understand how to maximise the performance of the systems they purchase,” he added.

He noted that the Sarawak branch is equipped with trained and experienced technicians to provide technical assistance, maintenance support and product consultation for residential and commercial customers.

Apart from strengthening its physical service network, Daikin is also leveraging digital technology to improve customer experience through its Go Daikin mobile application.

The application enables users of compatible Wi-Fi-enabled air-conditioning systems to remotely control their units, monitor electricity consumption, receive maintenance reminders and book servicing appointments.

Song said customers could also track their energy usage trends through the application, allowing them to optimise operating efficiency and potentially reduce electricity costs.

“We can provide maintenance reminders through push notifications, while customers are also able to arrange servicing directly via the application.

“These features help ensure their systems continue operating efficiently,” he added.

On workforce development, the company remains committed to employing local talent, noting that the majority of employees at the Sarawak branch are Sarawakians.

“We prefer locals to support the local market, while our headquarters provides specialised technical expertise whenever required,” he said.

Looking ahead, Song said the relocation marks another milestone in Daikin’s commitment to strengthening its presence in East Malaysia and delivering reliable products backed by quality service.

“Our priority remains our customers. We want those using Daikin products to have peace of mind, knowing they can rely on durable systems supported by dependable after-sales service throughout Sarawak,” he added.
