DALAT: The Dalat Bazaar Voluntary Fire Station which was completed about a month ago will be officially open this weekend.
Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah is expected to officiate at the event.
Besides Fatimah, the state Fire and Rescue Department Director, Nor Hisham B Mohamad is also scheduled to speak at the event which would also feature a fire-fighting demonstration.
The facility is meant for the Dalat Bazaar Voluntary Fire Brigade Team or Pasukan Bomba Sukarela Pekan Dalat (PBS Pekan Dalat) formed recently.
The building would become an operation centre for members of PBS Pekan Dalat especially when there is fire or other disasters happening in the area.
The building construction which commenced last February involved firemen based in Mukah Division Fire and Rescue Department (Mukah FRD) about 50 kilometres away.
Apart from PBS Pekan Dalat other PBSs that have been formed in the Mukah division are PBS Balingian, PBS Kpg Medong Medong Dalat and PBS Daro.
