SIBU: The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sibu Service Centre will continue to roll out more subsidy programmes in their effort to help the B40 families.

Sibu MP, Oscar Ling said that his service centre will organise such a programme every month, either in the form of subsidies for essential goods, oil, gas, and more.

“The price of the goods will be subsidised and then sold to the public at a low price compared to the market price,” he said when met by reporters at the gas subsidy programme held at the car park at Jalan Ulu Sungai Merah today.

Ling urged the public to follow his social media page for future announcements of such programme.

On the gas subsidy programme, Ling said that the response was very encouraging among the public and a total of 500 gas cylinders are provided for them.

“We give subsidies. Its normal price should be more than RM30 but we sell the gas at RM20. The price is lower and worthwhile compared to the market price, we give gas subsidies to families who need it, helping to reduce the burden on people’s lives,” he said.

Ling said that the same activity will also be held today ( Jan 15) at Jetty Sungai Bidut from 7.30 am to 11.30 am.

“Those who live in the area can buy gas cylinders on the condition that they bring empty gas cylinders.

“It is sold for only RM20 and it is limited to 500 gas cylinders only; so it’s first come, first served basis,” he said.
