KUCHING: The Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin’s annual ‘Back to School’ programme brought joy to needy students this week.

It distributed school bags and essential stationery to primary school pupils from six schools, including SJK Chung Hua No. 2, SK Stutong, SK Satria Jaya, SK St Alban Sg Tapang, SJK Chung Hua Stampin and SJK Sam Hap Hin.

This initiative is part of DAP Stampin’s efforts to support families from the B40 income group in preparing their children for the new academic year.

The distribution aims to alleviate the financial burden of education-related expenses, which can weigh heavily on families with limited income.

Special Assistant to Sarawak DAP Chairman Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong Feng Nian, said the programme sought to ensure students have the necessary tools to begin the school year confidently.

“Education is a cornerstone of personal and community development. By providing these essentials, we hope to spark students’ interest in learning and give them a fair chance to dream and achieve,” he said.

Kong emphasised the party’s dedication to supporting local communities, adding that DAP Stampin remained committed to initiatives that made a meaningful difference.

“This annual programme reflects the party’s belief in equal access to education and the importance of empowering young minds to build a brighter future,”he said.
