SIBU: Poor families and orphans in Saratok received Hari Raya Aidilfitri donations during a community ceremony organised by the Saratok Darts Sports Club at the Saratok Darts Arena recently.

The ceremony was officiated by the Malaysian Government’s Political, Economic and Social Advisory Panel, Prof. Dr Tunza Mohd Riduan.

In his speech, he explained that the programme was held to help the needy as well as to foster a spirit of togetherness in the local community.

“Programmes like this not only provide assistance to those in need, but also serve as a platform to strengthen relationships within the community.

“We want to foster the value of caring, helping each other and working together regardless of background for the sake of common well-being,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tunza also emphasised the importance of building a society based on positive values and forgiving each other.

“If we make a mistake, we need to forgive each other. It is not good to hold grudges or feelings of dissatisfaction.

“Society needs to practice a positive attitude in daily life, including always maintaining emotional health, smiles and relationships with others,” he said.

He added that the positive thinking approach has been recommended by him in various programmes conducted in Sabah, Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia and internationally.

He also emphasised that cleanliness of the heart plays an important role in shaping a person’s personality.

“If our heart is clean, our soul will also be clean. When the soul is clean, the mind will also be clean, and consequently our speech will also be clean,” he explained.

Also present was Saratok Darts Sports Club’s president, Ahmad Perkan Yakop.
