SERIAN: The Kuching Dayak Doctorate Degree Holders’ Association (KDDDHA) has formalised a partnership with Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tebakang through the signing of a memorandum of synergy (MoS), marking a significant step in promoting educational and socio-cultural development among students.
The MoS was signed by KDDDHA secretary Dr Ambrose Dango while SMK Tebakang principal Benjamin Spencer Latip, represented the school during the signing ceremony.
As part of the collaboration, KDDDHA will support student development through periodic talks and engagements focusing on academic opportunities, civic consciousness, and socio-cultural issues.
“This is more than just a collaboration, it is our commitment to uplift and empower our younger generation. Through our expertise, we want to inspire students to reach beyond limitations and realise their potential,” said Dr Ambrose.
Before the signing, four members of the association were involved in a seminar and motivational session for 249 Form 5 students.
The speakers included Dr Ambrose Dango, who spoke on TVET and STEM; Dr Cliffton Akoi (deputy treasurer), who discussed Education for the Future; Supt. Dr Collin Babat (committee), who addressed Crime Among Youths from a law enforcement perspective; and Dr Ricky Lawe (committee), who delivered a motivational talk titled Success Is Mine.
Officially registered in March 2024, KDDDHA invites Dayak PhD and doctorate degree holders to be part of the association.
“Its mission is to work closely with the community by leveraging members’ professional expertise in various fields,” Dr Dango said.
KDDDHA aims to be a bridge between the community and developmental initiatives, fostering self-reliance and ensuring the Dayak community stands shoulder to shoulder with others ‘berdiri sama tinggi, duduk sama rendah’.
