MIRI: Sarawak’s very own vocal powerhouse, Dayang Nurfaizah, was the undisputed star of the ‘MeleTOP TVS Concert’ on Saturday, held at the indoor stadium here.

She not only delivered a breathtaking performance but was also honoured with the ‘Anugerah Khas Borneo’ in recognition of her contributions to the Malaysian music industry and for elevating Sarawak’s presence on the national stage.

With nearly 5,000 fans in attendance, many arriving as early as 5:00 pm and braving heavy downpours, the anticipation was palpable, but it was Dayang’s magnetic stage presence and soaring vocals that stole the show.

Dressed in an elegant ensemble that matched her vocal finesse, Dayang delivered a series of solo performances that had the crowd singing along to her beloved hits, but it was her unexpected collaboration with Hael Husaini that brought the audience to its feet.

Their duet, a seamless blend of harmonies and emotional intensity, showcased not only their vocal chemistry but also a rare onstage connection that resonated deeply with the audience.

The performance, described by fans on social media as “pure magic”, became an instant highlight of the night.

“It’s always special to perform in Sarawak,” Dayang said during a brief moment with the audience.

“To share this stage with such talented artists, and especially to connect with all of you here in Miri, means the world to me.”

Other performers lighting up the night included Mimifly, Stacy, Dolla, Nadeera Zaini, and rock-pop group, Floor 88, each delivering crowd favourites that kept energy levels high throughout the concert.

The evening was hosted by popular hosts, Nabil Ahmad, Sherry Alhadad and Hana Rizwana, joined by TVS presenters, Ghaz Zawawi and Fattah Bolh.

Broadcasted live on TVS (Channel 122 on Astro, MYTV and UnifiTV), Astro ONE and Sooka, the concert was one of the most talked-about entertainment events in Sarawak.
