DBKU appoints five new members

KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today witnessed the appointment ceremony of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Members for the April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2028 term at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here.  

The ceremony aimed to introduce and formalise the appointments of the Commission Members who would contribute to the strategic development and administration of Kuching North.

The appointments were also in line with DBKU’s aspiration to strengthen inclusive, transparent and responsive governance that met the needs of the community.

Reappointed as the Commission Members are Sarawak Attorney-General Datuk Seri Saferi Ali; Sarawak Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar; Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Datuk Seri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel; Sarawak Land and Survey Department director Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood and Public Works Department Sarawak director Dr Cassidy Morris.

The new Commission  Members are Sih Hua Tong; Ir Talhah@Talha Affendi; Abdul Baderi Sahmat; Iskandar Sharkawi and Abdul Adzim Adzmi Abdul Rahman.

The Commission Members will play a key role in linking the community with the city administration, formulating policies and ensuring citizen participation in the physical and socio-economic development of Kuching North.
