KUCHING: The Car Free Morning Programme, organised bi-monthly here, can be another draw for visitors and tourists.

Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications (Utility), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, said the designated route for the programme includes several key tourist attractions.

“Various interesting infrastructures can be seen along this route including the Borneo Cultural Museum, Fort Margherita, Darul Hana Bridge, and Dataran Ibu Pertiwi, among others” he said.

He said this while attending the Car Free Morning Programme at
Tugu Pahlawan here yesterday (Jan 21).

Meanwhile, Kuching North City Hall deputy mayor Hilmy Othman said the organisation of this programme serves as a curtain-raiser for 2024.

According to Hilmy, there are various plans to collaborate with associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) throughout this year.

“We aim to engage with diverse associations, such as Cheshire Home, Single Mothers Association, Pink Ribbon, and many more, to collectively enliven the programme.

“Our collaborative approach with relevant parties will not only stimulate leisure activities but also elevate the events organised by DBKU,” he said.

The programme held at Tugu Pahlawan earlier was attended by more than 1,000 individuals.
