KUCHING: The Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) has postponed its Merdeka Spirit Run 2026 to Oct 4 due to the current haze conditions.
The decision was made to safeguard the safety and well-being of all participants.
“Due to the current haze conditions and for the safety and well-being of all participants, the event will be postponed to Oct 4, 2026 (Sunday).”
The location for the rescheduled event will be announced at a later date.
However, DBKU said the race pack collection will proceed as scheduled this Saturday (Sept 5).
“Participants can collect their race packs at the Lower Ground Floor of The Hills Shopping Mall from 11am to 8pm.”
DBKU apologised for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and thanked participants for their understanding.
It also advised participants and members of the public to stay safe amid the current haze conditions.
