KUCHING: The DBKU Road Race 3.0 successfully concluded its 126-kilometre route at Bukit Siol, drawing a strong field of 130 cyclists from Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and South Africa.
The event once again highlighted its international appeal and growing stature as a premier cycling race in the region.
This year’s competition featured five categories: Junior Champion (Best Young Rider), King of the Mountain, King of Sprint, Best Individual, and Team Champion.
Each category tested the endurance, speed, and strategy of participants, with winners sharing a total prize pool of RM15,650.
The coveted King of the Mountain title went to Muhammad Ameer Ahmad Kamal of the G-PDRM Cycling Team, who also dominated the Best Individual category by clinching first place ahead of Mohd Nor Umardi Rosdi (second) and his teammate Muhammad Ameen Ahmad Kamal (third).
The King of Sprint crown was claimed by Laurel Lauridsen Adrian of Ghost Speed Racing Team A, while Azrul Aiman Abu Seli of the Buceros Cycling Team was named Junior Champion.
In the team event, the overall Team Champion title was secured by the formidable G-PDRM Cycling Team, followed by Tugau Vaie Elite Team in second place and Ghost Speed Racing Team A in third.
Beyond the competition, the DBKU Road Race 3.0 serves as a vital platform to nurture new cycling talent, foster a spirit of sportsmanship, and promote healthy living within the community.
It also strengthens Kuching’s profile as a regional destination for prestigious sporting events, further positioning the city as a hub for international sports tourism.
