KUCHING: The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) recently unveiled the Eagle OSH Eye DBKU application during the launch of DBKU Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Week 2026.

The Eagle OSH Eye app is designed as a workplace safety and health monitoring tool, focusing on continuous observation and early detection of potential risks.

Through a QR code scanning feature, the application enables staff to report hazards proactively, allowing for faster, more accurate, and systematic identification of unsafe behaviours, hazardous conditions, and even positive safety practices,” said acting director of DBKU Ts. Mohamad Faisal Adenan.

He stated this in his speech during Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Week DBKU 2026 Celebration Ceremony at DBKU Auditorium today (Apr28).

“This initiative reflects DBKU’s forward-thinking approach in strengthening a culture of reporting while promoting collective responsibility in risk prevention,” he said.

The organisation of OSH Week DBKU 2026 also highlights the council’s ongoing commitment to fostering a strong safety and health culture, in line with the global theme: “Good Psychosocial Working Environments: A Pathway to Thriving Workers and Strong Organisation.”

“At DBKU, occupational safety and health is regarded as a shared duty across all levels. It goes beyond management responsibility, requiring awareness, vigilance, and active involvement from every employee in identifying risks and taking preventive action.

“This approach supports DBKU’s continuous efforts to ensure all duties are carried out in a safe, healthy, and conducive working environment,” he added.

A variety of programmes and activities were also held to boost awareness and participation among staff, including a blood donation campaign, safety briefings, OSH exhibitions and quizzes, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) showcases, aerobics sessions, slingshot and chess competitions, as well as a 1,000-step OSH Fun Walk.
