Deadly cobra caught, released

A cobra about the size of a broomstick is being captured by a fireman.

BETONG: A retail shop owner had an early surprised visit from a slithery customer while cleaning up to prepare for business this morning.

The frightening snake incident happened at a shop in Empiang, Kampung Engkeranji and firemen from Betong station were promptly alerted of the reptile presence around 7.10am.

Upon arriving, the team met with the complainant who led the team in finding the venomous king cobra that was hiding behind a freezer box.

The team clad with full personal protective equipment, managed to catch the reptile with a reptile grabber.

It only took the team about five minutes to catch the cobra about the size of a broomstick.

Subsequently, the slithery creature was released into its original habitat further away from residential areas.
