BETONG: Residents of Debak will soon benefit from a new facility as a RM400,000 community hall is currently under construction in the area.
According to Deputy Minister for Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak, who is also the State Assemblyman for Saribas, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam, the construction of the community hall is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and meeting the needs of the people.
“This community hall is not only a symbol of physical development but also serves as a place to unite the community and host various social and cultural programmes,” he said during a visit to the project site today.
Mohammad Razi also expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) as the implementing agency.
“I also hopes that the project, being carried will be completed on schedule and meet the required specifications for the well-being of local residents,” he said.
The hall is expected to offer a comfortable and conducive space for various community activities such as meetings, wedding ceremonies, religious events, as well as youth and women’s programmes.
