KUCHING: Development projects in Mukah that have fallen behind schedule are posing a threat to the health sector and need immediate attention.

Speaking at the Hari Raya gathering at Wisma Melanau in Miri recently, Deputy Health Minister and Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni said the importance of development projects, particularly in the healthcare sector.

“We know the challenges faced by the health sector. Not only are people sick, but many projects are also ‘sick’,” he said.

He also revealed plans to visit the division to identify urgent matters, including equipment requirements at Mukah Hospital and the sick projects in Daro and Balingian, where the people need access to healthcare.

Lukanisman also announced plans to visit all clinics in the state to ensure that the medical equipment is complete and sufficient.

Also present were Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi, Pujut assemblyman Adam Yii Siew Sang, Miri Resident Jamalie Busri, Bekenu Malay Welfare Trust Board chairman Datuk Usup Sani Wahap, and Miri Melanau Association president Councilor Abdullah Jaini.
