BETONG: As the Sarawak government continues its efforts to improve infrastructure in rural areas, many members of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) have voiced their hopes for further development.
Leaders and members alike emphasise the need for improvements that enhance the quality of life in rural communities, focusing on bridging gaps and ensuring better access to essential services.
This reflects a shared vision of a prosperous Sarawak, where no area is left behind, and every citizen has access to the resources they need to thrive.
In conjunction with the PBB Betong Zone Delegates Meeting, which will be held at the Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan Hall, Suara Sarawak spoke with some of the delegates about their hopes and aspirations.

KAUNSELOR RAMZI RASIT
Thank you to the Sarawak government for its dedication to improving infrastructure in rural areas. However, there are still facilities in need of improvement, such as roads. If possible, by 2030, the connections between districts should be fully optimised. I hope PBB members will continue to uphold party harmony and work together to advance Sarawak.

NINIE RACHA ANDING
I acknowledge that there is still much room for development, particularly in establishing strong and stable basic infrastructure such as Internet access, electricity, and water supply to cover all rural areas. In Betong, we are also working on building a convention centre or a one-stop micro-economy generation centre to promote specific products from each division in Sarawak. On the occasion of today’s meeting, I hope that PBB members uphold the principle of ‘Sacrifice in Unity’, which serves as a guide to remain united regardless of race or religion.

KAUNSELOR KASDI PANDI
For the Kalaka area, I hope more agricultural roads are upgraded and paved, and that the area is provided with reliable water and electricity supplies. With these basic needs met, the agricultural sector can be further developed. As for this PBB meeting, the spirit of loyalty to the party should be instilled in all members. Additionally, members must respect one another and prioritise the party’s needs over personal interests.

FATHIN FATHNIN MOHAMAD RADZIF
As a member of the rural community, I hope for improved access to quality education, the establishment of more skill training centres, and enhanced digital learning opportunities. Additionally, social facilities in rural areas must be further strengthened. In conjunction with this PBB meeting, I encourage members to continue working together to promote world peace, address environmental challenges, and enhance economic cooperation and global welfare. Through sustained efforts, we can achieve more balanced and sustainable development for the wellbeing of all.

AWANG NASHFARINI AWANG SARBINI
There is still hope for rural development, particularly in improving infrastructure such as roads, access to clean water, electricity, and reliable Internet connectivity. Additionally, better access to education and healthcare services, as well as economic development programmes, remain essential. My hope for PBB members is that they continue to cooperate and stay united, providing unwavering support to the leadership in advancing the regional development agenda and ensuring political stability.

CECELIA TINI AJAH
One of the developments I hope to see in Betong is the introduction of activities that can engage the younger generation. Additionally, there should be more spaces for youth to explore and develop their interests in the digital world. For this meeting, each branch or zone should remain united to strengthen PBB. Moreover, members should be given opportunities to learn more about this historic party.
