KUCHING: Sarawak-based telecommunications infrastructure company Demanlink Connexion Sdn Bhd has deployed two new connectivity solutions, strengthening digital infrastructure in Siburan and Bintulu.

The rollout includes Sarawak’s first telecommunications smart pole in Siburan and the company’s first built-to-suit site in Kampung Jepak, Bintulu, enhancing network coverage.

“Technology is a powerful socioeconomic catalyst. These deployments are more than about coverage, but about empowering communities with a strong digital foundation,” said chief executive officer Hanad Yusuf.

Both solutions are equipped with future-ready 5G infrastructure, aimed at improving connectivity across growing urban areas and transport networks while supporting increasing demand for digital services.

Located in Taman Impiana, Siburan, the smart pole features a compact, multi-functional design that supports 5G equipment and allows co-location for multiple mobile network operators.

“This smart pole is designed to optimise infrastructure use while improving network performance, ensuring residents and commuters benefit from seamless and reliable high-speed connectivity,” he added.

In Bintulu, the built-to-suit site in Kampung Jepak is strategically positioned to serve residential and commercial areas, as well as key transport routes nearby.

“It also supports nearby schools and technical and vocational  education and training (TVET) centres, enabling better access to online learning resources, while enhancing connectivity along the Pan Borneo Highway for safer travel,” he said.

The company also recently completed an in-building coverage deployment at One Shell Square in Miri, expanding high-speed connectivity within one of Sarawak’s key energy hubs.

“With ongoing projects across Sarawak, we are committed to delivering scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions that meet the evolving connectivity needs of communities and industries,” Hanad noted.

Demanlink continues to expand its footprint through collaborations with local stakeholders, focusing on speed, reliability, and long-term development of Sarawak’s digital ecosystem.

As Sarawak advances towards its 2030 digital economy goals, the company aims to play a pivotal role in enabling inclusive growth through improved connectivity across the state.
