MIRI: Awang Sauni Pengiran Anis, the father of Deputy Health Minister, Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni, passed away in his sleep at approximately 2:45 am today.
“With a heavy heart and deep humility, I wish to share that our beloved father has returned to the Creator early this morning,” Lukanisman wrote in a Facebook post.
Funeral prayers for the late Awang Sauni were held at Masjid Darul Istiqamah in Luak at 7:30 am, followed by burial at the Sungai Beluboh Muslim Cemetery.
“We accept this loss with full submission to Allah’s will, and kindly ask for your prayers that our father’s soul be placed among the righteous,” he added.
On behalf of the family, Lukanisman also expressed an apology to anyone his late father may have wronged.
“If he had ever caused harm, knowingly or unknowingly, we sincerely seek your forgiveness. Should there be any unsettled debts or obligations, please contact me directly so we can address them,” he said.
“May all his good deeds be accepted by Allah SWT, and may his sins be forgiven. O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, and grant him a place in Your everlasting paradise.”
The late Awang Sauni is survived by his wife Rose Yong and three children – Erwina, Lukanisman and Dayang Hairunisa.
