SRI AMAN: The Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) continues to play its role as the main driver of strategic development in the Sri Aman area, covering the districts of Sri Aman, Pantu, Lingga and Lubok Antu with a total area of 5,628 square kilometres.
In a special briefing session conducted by SADA recently, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, the Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies (RDA), DBKU and Islamic Affairs), stressed the need for implementing agencies to play a proactive role to ensure that all projects are implemented without compromise.
“The importance of strong cooperation is needed between all parties, including RDA, implementing agencies and monitoring agencies, to ensure that planned projects can be completed on schedule and have a positive impact on the people,” he said.
Dr Abdul Rahman also touched on the establishment of a special committee which will function as a catalyst for a more efficient and effective service delivery system, in line with the government’s aspiration to develop rural and urban areas in a balanced manner.
In addition, he reminded all contractors who have received a Letter of Appointment (LOA) to commence field work within 30 days from the date of the LOA.
According to him, the Sarawak government is committed to ensuring that regional development is implemented efficiently and with high impact, in line with the goal of balanced development throughout the state.
The briefing delivered by SADA’s special administrative officer Alfred Geling was aimed at providing a comprehensive explanation of the agency’s role and function in planning and implementing various development projects in the Sri Aman area.
The Sarawak government has previously allocated RM1.5 billion to each regional development agency including SADA to implement various infrastructure, agricultural, economic and social projects in rural areas.
