KUCHING: There is finally a glimmer of hope for Dewi Farisha Fazliman and her two daughters to come back to her hometown.

Following the case of Dewi being stranded in the Philippines for over four years, it had caught the attention of several authorities to aid her return.

When New Sarawak Tribune contacted the Malaysian Embassy in Manila, they said that they visisted Dewi at her rental room at Taytay, Rizal yesterday.

Refusing to comment further on the development of the case, the embassy said they will be sending a full report on the case directly to Wisma Putra.

“Aside from that, we cannot give any more or further update on the case except to Wisma Putra,” it said.

Elated that there is progress on the case, Dewi breathes a sigh of relief as there is hope that she along with her two daughters would be able to come back soon.

“I am grateful that the officers from the embassy visited me today and told me that tomorrow (Jan 19) they would bring the three of us to a new place for them to stay for the time being.

“They also assured me that they will help us and hasten the process for us to come back to our hometown.

“I hope that everything will go well and I will soon be reunited with my family in Kuching,” she said in a tearful tone, adding that the officers had also given her some donations including biscuits and cakes.
