KUCHING: More than 60 entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners have benefited from the Sarawak Digital Champion Program held at NADI Kampung Tanjung Bundung from May to September.
Conducted monthly, the programme was fully sponsored by the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), with Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak as the delivery partner.
The programme focused on helping participants strengthen their digital skills and use technology more effectively in their business operations.
Participants were introduced to digital tools for day-to-day business activities, cybersecurity awareness, business features and digital platforms for managing operations and marketing products and services.
Programme lead Mohd Khairulazwan Sulaiman, who is the Sarawak Digital Champion for Samarahan District, said the initiative aimed to make digitalisation more practical and accessible to local entrepreneurs.
“The programme is designed to help entrepreneurs understand how digital tools can make their business operations easier, safer and more effective,” he said.
He added that participants were also given exposure to platforms that could help them strengthen their presence in the digital marketplace.
“Digital skills are becoming increasingly important for entrepreneurs, not only for marketing but also for managing their businesses more efficiently,” he said.
Khairulazwan, who is also a software engineer with expertise in business digitalisation and corporate transformation, said the programme also sought to build a stronger support network for entrepreneurs in Samarahan.
He said the initiative was not limited to one-off training sessions, but was intended to create an active community where participants could continue to seek guidance and learn from one another.
“We want entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in Samarahan to know that there is an active community available to support them.
“They can continue to receive guidance, build their knowledge and explore opportunities to grow in the digital economy,” he said.
