MIRI: Passengers from Malaya, Sabah and Labuan arriving in Miri will be issued with digital tracking wristband to keep track their movement in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 virus, said Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin.
Lee said the tracking device (wristband) would be given upon their arrival at Miri Airport effective today.
“The wristband is also to ensure their isolation during the 14-day quarantine period before they are allowed to go to their respective destination,” he said.

For those who are going back to their hometowns situated within the green zone, for example Telang Usan, Bario , Beluru, Marudi and Subis, Lee said they must undergo a 14-day quarantine in Miri at the designated hotels.
To date, a total 38 people have been given the wristband and are being monitored by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) and the Ministry of Health (MoH), said Lee.
The usage of wristbands is compulsory during the 14-day quarantine period and failure to comply with the directive will result in legal action being taken against defaulters.
