KUCHING: Students have been reminded that discipline is the foundation for success, both in their studies and in life.

Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner DCP Saifullizan Ishak gave this reminder during the “Safe School, Disciplined Students” programme at SMK Bako yesterday (Sept 8).

“Discipline is the foundation of success, not only in education but also in life.

“Students must avoid misconduct, drug abuse, and juvenile crime if they want to achieve a better future,” he said.

Saifullizan also urged the school to play an active role in ensuring safety on campus while stressing the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) commitment to work closely with schools.

The programme, organised by the Kuching District Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division, also featured a dialogue session with teachers and students.

It aims to strengthen two-way ties between the school and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), while reinforcing the agenda of “Safe School, Disciplined Students”.

Also present were Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, Kuching deputy police chief Supt Merbin Lisa, Kuching Education Office assistant officer Nor Faizul Saat and SMK Bako senior assistant of administration Hanapi Mohamad.
