SELANGOR: Sarawak continued their diving dominance at Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2026, sweeping two gold medals in thrilling dives at the Darul Ehsan Aquatics Centre.
The golds came through Nur Eilisha Rania Muhammad Abrar Raj and Dayang Nursharzyra Awang Nasaruddin in the women’s open synchronised 3m springboard and Elvis Priestly Clement in the men’s platform individual event.
The women’s pair showed their mettle with excellent dives after producing a winning total of 221.01 points.
They held their composure despite a couple of minor execution errors on their fourth and fifth dives to finish ahead of Federal Territory’s Lee Yiat Qing and Teng Hui Xue, who settled for silver with 217.56 points.
Selangor’s Ayu Syuhaida Khairul and Uzlifatil Jannah Ashraf took bronze with 209.01 points.
In the men’s platform individual final, Elvis produced the day’s biggest comeback to snatch gold with 397.30 points.
The Sarawak diver was lying second after five rounds but delivered a superb final dive to overhaul the deficit and finish at the top of the standings.
His teammate Jared Aiden Harold completed a Sarawak one-two with 396.20 points, while Sabah’s Muhammad Anilrian Normatr took bronze with 340.65 points.
The result further underlined Sarawak’s diving strength at the Games, with the squad continuing to turn the pool into a reliable source of medals for the Sarawak contingent.
