KUCHING: The construction of new carparks at the Kuching Division Health Clinic, funded under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) at a cost of RM250,000, has been successfully completed.

The project, supervised by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), aims to ease parking congestion and improve accessibility for patients and visitors.

To mark the completion, Kota Sentosa Assemblyman, Wilfred Yap Sau Sin, and Kuching Division Health Officer, Dr Johnny Pangkas, conducted a site visit this morning.

They were briefed by Dr Jennett Michael and the contractor on the completed works as well as ongoing upgrades, including the installation of a new centralised air-conditioning system, electrical rewiring, and two container offices to support operations.

Discussions during the visit also covered four upcoming RTP projects allocated by Yap.

These include the construction of a new medical laboratory costing RM500,000 under the Public Works Department (JKR); the upgrading and renovation of the existing clinic at a cost of RM300,000, also under JKR; Phase 2 construction of additional carparks costing RM250,000 under MPP; and the construction of additional carparks facing the main road, costing RM50,000 under MPP.

All four projects have been approved by Jabatan Premier Sarawak and are now pending the preparation of the scope of works, designs and bill of quantities before implementation.
