GIRL group DOLLA unveils a different side of themselves through their latest music video titled “Question”, which showcases a more feminine, mature, and emotional concept — a contrast to the intense and bold image they are known for.
Carrying a bubblegum pop vibe, DOLLA members Tabby, Angel, and Sabronzo revealed that the music video was filmed at a retro diner-style café in Kuala Lumpur and took nearly 28 hours to complete.
Tabby, whose full name is Tabitha Ariel Lam, said that although the filming stretched into the late hours, everything went smoothly thanks to the strong commitment of the production team and the café staff.
“We filmed at the café after its operating hours, starting around 10 pm. The owners were really kind, and some of them even stayed until 7 am to make sure everything ran smoothly,” she said during a press conference following a preview of DOLLA’s latest music video.
Co-written by Justin Seow, Kuizz, Aziz Harun, and DOLLA themselves, “Question” blends strong lyrical storytelling with a memorable melody, reflecting the group’s growing artistic maturity.
Tabby described the song as having a laid-back and entertaining storyline while still carrying a deeper message about betrayal, heartbreak, and the process of facing oneself.
Angel explained that while the concept of their music video, now released on DOLLA’s official YouTube channel, appears lighthearted, the song mirrors real-life experiences for many listeners.
“People can relate because it’s about red flags in relationships. Sometimes we don’t even realise it’s happening to us, so when they listen to the song, they can smile, but it also makes them think,” she said.
Meanwhile, Sabronzo, or Wan Sabrina Wan Rusli, said they collaborated with talented Thai choreographer Akkaraphol Prompen to bring a fresh perspective to their dance routine.
“His choreography combines feminine movements with unique formations and smooth transitions that perfectly match the attitude and energy of the song. We wanted the dance to look confident but still fun.
“The whole process was very collaborative, but in the end, we let Earth-E (Akkaraphol Prompen) express his distinctive style,” she added.
The music video also features actor Lorenzo Irmann, who plays the role of the boyfriend cheating on all the DOLLA members. – BERNAMA
