KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Stampin Branch is calling on the public to join its upcoming Blood Donation Campaign this Saturday, 20 September, at Emart Batu Kawa from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Organised in collaboration with the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank, the campaign aims to prevent blood shortages and ensure a steady supply for patients in need of life-saving transfusions.
Members of the public, whether first-time donors or regular contributors, are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and be part of this life-giving initiative.
Chairman of Blood and Organ Donation for the MRC Stampin Branch, Wendy Tan said the drive is crucial to support the hospital’s continuous demand for blood.
“Every drop counts, your donation could be the reason someone gets a second chance at life. We warmly welcome everyone to join us and be part of this compassionate community effort,” she said.
The event will take place at the Emart Batu Kawa shopping complex, providing easy access for donors and creating a comfortable environment for participants. Trained medical staff and volunteers will be on hand to ensure the donation process is safe and efficient.
The MRC Stampin Branch emphasised that blood donation is a simple yet powerful act of kindness that can make an immediate impact.
As Sarawak General Hospital is serving patients from across the state, maintaining an adequate blood supply is essential for emergencies, surgeries, and critical treatments.
Wendy added that the branch is committed to raising awareness about the importance of regular blood donation and hopes to inspire more people to become consistent donors.
Community members who wish to participate are encouraged to bring their identification cards and ensure they are in good health on the day of donation. For further information, the public may contact Wendy Tan directly at 019-8182244.
The Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch believes that by uniting for this cause, residents can help ensure that the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank remains well-stocked, giving countless patients a better chance at recovery and life.
