KUCHING: The public is encouraged to step forward and donate blood in a community-driven campaign aimed at saving lives and supporting local medical needs.
The blood donation drive will take place on May 12 at the Tze Yii Buddhist Orthodox Society Kuching, located along Jalan Sherip Manshor here, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Jointly organised by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, SJK Chung Hua No. 5, Kuching Tze Yii Buddhist Orthodox Association, PMG Pharmacy, and the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank, the initiative seeks to replenish blood supplies essential for emergencies, surgeries and other medical procedures that require blood transfusions.
Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch in a statement said healthy individuals, aged 18 and above, are welcomed to participate in this life-saving effort.
“Every drop of blood donated can save a life,” it said.
The organisers also reminded donors to get adequate rest the night before and consume a light meal before donating.
