KUCHING: The Sarawak government has warned the public to be cautious of fake websites and social media platforms claiming to offer application checks for the Sarawak Basic Needs Contribution (SKAS) 2025.

According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), all official information, registrations, and announcements related to SKAS are only available through the official portal at sarawak.gov.my/skas and UKAS platforms.

“Any information outside of these channels is not valid. We strongly urge the public to rely solely on the official portal to safeguard their personal data,” UKAS said in a statement today (Sep 10).

It said that members of the public had recently received a suspicious link — https://talentekstra.biz.id/bantuanskas2025/ — and encountered misleading information on a TikTok account at https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSD1USQX9/. Checks confirmed that both the link and the account were fake.

UKAS stressed that SKAS does not collect any personal data through channels other than the official portal and reminded the public to exercise caution when browsing links or social media pages claiming to provide information about SKAS or other Sarawak government programmes.
