Dr Jerip commits to supporting education in Mambong

SERIAN: Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil has expressed his willingness to assist students from less privileged families in his constituency to obtain higher education.

He pointed out the importance of human capital development through education, which is one of the three main cores for developing the Mambong constituency.

“I am always open to providing financial assistance to any students in the Mambong area who successfully continue their education to higher levels,” he said.

He said this while speaking at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Siburan’s Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) annual general meeting (AGM) yesterday (May 11).

The Deputy Minister of Transport added parents should also prioritise and monitor the educational progress of their children.

At the event, Dr Jerip approved a Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project fund totalling RM500,000 for SK Siburan for the construction of the school’s new multipurpose hall.

He also allocated a Minor Rural Project (MRP) fund of RM20,000 to SK Siburan’s PIBG, while a Special Project Grant of RM5,000 was given to the school’s PIBG chairman Zainuddin Morshidi.

Also present at the event were the Assistant Education Officer of the Serian Division Denvy Mel and the school Headmaster Sediah Bandi.
