Driver ejected, injured in crash near bridge

BINTULU: A man was left injured after being thrown from his vehicle and falling down a 10-metre slope in an accident along Jalan Kuala Tatau on Saturday.

The accident, which involved a Toyota HRV, happened at 12:20 pm before the Sebemban Bridge.

Firefighters from Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene, located about 22 kilometres away, following a distress call.

Upon arrival, they confirmed that the 33-year-old victim had been ejected from the vehicle and had landed on a steep embankment.

Rescuers used a stretcher to carry him from the embankment before handing him over to paramedics for further action.

His exact injuries remain unknown.

The operation concluded at 1:01 pm after the situation was safe.
